CIC Swiss Bike Cup Final 2024: Lenzerheide instead of Crans-Montana

May 23, 2024

The final of the CIC Swiss Bike Cup will not take place in September in Crans-Montana, as originally planned. Unfortunately, the organizers are unable to integrate these races in addition to the UCI Mountain Bike World Series in June this year and the World Championships in September 2025.

The organizers regret the cancellation and hope to be able to host the CIC Swiss Bike Cup again in the coming years.

The good news: Organizer Human Sports Management (HSM) has already found a suitable replacement in the Lenzerheide holiday region, where no World Cup will be held in 2024. And the hosting date of 21/22 September 2024 will also remain as planned.

With its long-standing tradition of hosting the XCO World Cup and World Championships, the Lenzerheide holiday region is more than an adequate replacement location and can guarantee a worthy season finale. The races can probably be carried out almost entirely on the well-known attractive World Cup track, which is physically and technically demanding.

“We are pleased to have found a renowned organizer who can take over the final of the CIC Swiss Bike Cup at short notice. Lenzerheide is an ideal fit for HSM's event portfolio,” says Dimitri Isler, CIC Swiss Bike Cup project manager at HSM. “We would like to apologize to everyone involved for any expenses or other inconvenience this may have caused, but we are now looking forward to a great finale at Bike Kingdom.”

XCC Swiss Championships Update

There is another update for the CIC Swiss Bike Cup event from July 12 to 14 in Echallens VD, where the Swiss Championships will also be held. Since 2023, the race weekend of national title matches has started here on Friday with the XCC races.

The organizer Human Sports Management AG planned this year to offer an independent short-track title race in the U23 category. However, the national association “Swiss Cycling” did not address this. This gives U23 athletes — as usual — the opportunity to take part in short track competitions as part of the elite races.

In Echallens, the official Swiss short-track championship titles are therefore awarded exclusively in the elite categories.
